AUGUST 27TH, MY MONDAY-BLOG!

Hejsan svejsan everyone! (swedish version below!)

I have given it a lot of thaught (since my last blog which is about 6 months) and I have now decided that I have something called blog-o-dementia. This means that I love bloging and I want to do it every day but I forget that all the time!

There are only a handful open blog-o-dementia:tors in the world so if you meet any others tell them that we can have grouptherapy called A.B.O.D on the night of my regular blog, which is tuesdays, no wait it is thursdays! No wait! It is every six months… Well just tell them that it is sometimes around those dates. J

This blog is about Herräng 2012! What an amazing event! It was so huge this year, so many people, so much rain and still so personal and dreams coming true and somehow you feel so special, like we are all in a secret club. The bands and the DJ:s were absolutely fantastic this year and the classes were´nt TOO crowded and the party-themes were great! It felt almost like the old days where the Friday was the crown of each week somehow.

The only thing is how different the camp is when you´re there with a baby! Our son Sebastian is 2 in october and he gets up every morning around 7.30am. So this is a good example of how camp is with and without a baby:

We are in the kitchen eating breakfast around 8 am. At 8 am our roommate Todd Yannacone walks in! He just got back from dancing at Folkets hus all night and are on the way to go sleep. So we kind if had opposite lifes that day.

We had SO much fun with our swingkids and swingteens this year! Thank you ALL a million times for coming! Some special moments were the talk with Lennart, the socialdance with all the parents on Friday and the photoshoot!!

You are all so special and you bring such great energy to the camp and biggest of all: You are the future. When we, the "right now existing generation of dancers", get old and tired we need you to keep dancing and spreading the word about Lindy Hop into the future!

During this fall we, me and Mattias, will have classes called Swingkids Stockholm and Swingkids Norrtälje! Its for everyone between 9-15 years and we will do a mix of coupledancing like Lndy Hop and also Charleston, Tap and Acrobatics!

Register for Stockholm via www.chicago75.se and register for Norrtälje by sending a mail to hanna@mandh.se.

Check out the funny video that Mattias put together for all Swingkids! And remember: Don´t try this at home kids – come try it with us instead!

All the best!

/Hanna & Mattias

Hejsan svejsan everyone! (Hej Sverige!)

2nd Feb Thursday blog :)

Yes, I know: I am the worlds crapiest Bloger EVER!

But WHEN I do write it is very good and funny… right?

This is now my Thursday-blog J

So last months have been bissi bissi! We have been in Copenhagen, Lund, we started classes for kids at Chicago, and I had surgery (on BOTH feet because I am so thaugh! And it is hard to write on a computer when I am crawling on the floor because I was not allowed to walk at ALL for 1 month), we have moved to a new appartment(!), you can see a bit of the chaos on the photo, and I am putting on an event at Chicago april 28th and Seb´s been sick and then we had a Carling-gig AND a show for children. Gaah! Bissi!!

But it had been a lot of fun and a succesfull period. Today we are flying out to Singapore! Yey! It is Seajam-time with a lovely Frankie-theme which we love and Todd and Ramona will also be there so it is great!

My mum will go with us and we will be there for 3 weeks so we are very happy.

All of you need to come to Chicago at Hornsgatan 75 (Stockholm) on april 28th because we are doing a Herräng-night there! There will be some slowdrag and Cabarét and offcourse a packed dancefloor; just like Herräng!

And you can order our awesome airsteps-dvd, just write to me: hanna@mandh.se

We wanna thank Anders, Maja, Mikaela, Mackan and Sandra for being with us for our kids-show (Danskrysset!) and the Carling-gig; You are all amazing dancers and good friends and love working with you, it is a true pleasure!

So we moved to Danderyd (when I was still in the "crawling on the floor"-period) and it is such a great new place; 3 big rooms, BIG kitchen (at least compared to Bagarmossen) and BIIIG balcony and an elevator (which is great whe nyou have no feet like me). The only bad thing is that you need to learn to say "Dander(with an american  rolling "r")yyiid" to fit in. But we practise every day and soon noone will be able to detect that we are actually from Bagis.

And this place is 15 minutes from central-station and just 70 minutes from Herräng and just 10 minutes from Mattias´s family so it could not be better.

Come and visit us in DanderRryyiiid J

Take care and LOVE!!

Tuesday!

Another beautyful tuesday! And now little Sebastian is 1 year! People
said to us that "time will fly by" and I thaught "we´ll see", and wow
I did´nt! It passed so fast that I did´nt see it...
And as you can see in the photo; there is no wrong way to eat cake on
a birthday in the Lundmark-home. You can see Mattias´s (how do I write
that proper, I have no idea) mum in the background. She looks both
proud and impressed I think.
Another fun thins that happened that happened this morning with
Sebastian is that we try to teach him words; like lamp, mummy, daddy
and belly. So I pointed to his belly and said "belly". He started
pulling his pyjamas so I opened it so he could se his belly. He looks
at the belly, then at me and then he takes little pieces of cheese
(that is infront of him, we just ate breakfast) and starts putting it
into the hole of the pyjamas! He keeps putting in pieces of cheese in
his PJs and looks at me and Mattias and smiles. Life with kids are
funny and cheesy (in the "putting-it-into-a-pyjamas-way")!

The editing is still on track and I can say that the design that Bernd
and Tim has made is so cool and I hope you all will like it as much as
we do.

I am working out a lot right now even though I am not teaching very
much. Mattias have about 10 hours of classes every week so he is in
great shape, but I need to move. So I go to "Friskis & svettis" which
translates to "healthy & sweaty". It is basically aerobics but more
simple movements and I love it. One of our lindy-students took the
same class as me yesterday and after the class she said something like
this to me: "you must really like this superhard workout, it is almost
like your own military-warm ups". Military?! That is the best
compliment I ever heard of my warm ups!

Lots of love and stay healthy and sweaty!

Blogday is tuesday!

Hello world!
As you might have noticed this little blog only comes to life on
tuesdays. There is a reason for that and it is because all other days
people in Sweden takes siesta all day 24-7. Just like in Barcelona
where we just spent 4 great days at Emi and Pep´s Il Sinera. Okey,
they don´t only dance on tuesdays but they have siesta!

So okey, maybe swedes don´t sleep and eat cheese all week, and we can
´t take siestas because it is too cold here and if we lie on the
ground we freeze into icecubes BUT I only work one day a week right
now. "So you should have plenty of time writing your blog you lazy
swede", you might think, but NO! All day I runa round chasing our
walking/running son and inbetween that I practise and work out and go
north to my beloved Herräng to see my family and cook (sometimes… and
not necessarily good or tasty) food for Mattias who work for the both
of us. He is teaching at both sss, chicago and base 23 so I recommend
going to all three. All the time. 24-7. ;)

And our new dvd is getting closer and closer to ready every day!! It
really is so much fun but HARD work to get it ready. Bernd in Cologne
and Tim Collins in Switzerland (now but in India soon) are so kind and
cool to hel pus. Thank you so much!!

Next big trip is to for Mattias to go to Paris (le fou des swing) and
then Umeå (swingum), with the lovely miss Lizette Rönnqvist. I can not
go because I am having surgery. My feet are a bit broken from all
airsteps (I still love airsteps and do it all the time, but I can not
recommend doing what I did 2009: One years of doing about 20 airtsteps
every day!) and the surgery will fix it all.

Sebastian is walking now and even though we been trying to make him
focus on tap, which he likes, (and which he do really well, bt the he
is clearly still more "tap dogs" than "condos-brothers") he LOVES his
football! This football in the photo has a funny story (I just hope I
am still considered a good mum…): He loves chewing on EVERYTHING. ALL
THE TIME. So all his toys breaks, sooo, I looked in every toystore for
an unbreakable ball. I could not find the right one until I passed a
shoppingwindow with the perfect one! So I went into the pet store and
bought a ball for dogs! Like I wrote; he´s a tap-dog, so the ball fits
him like a glove.

Hugs and love/

An other day at work...

So this has been a great day!
I have been in contact with 4 different lindy organizers all over the
world and everything is not settled yet, but all I know is this will
be a great year.

Hugs!

The move 11 - 8th sept 2011

The move 11

I am baaaack! Again…

You should never trust me when I write "I am baack". I might just dive
back into my crazy world of travelling with a giant baby, 50 tons of
diapers, performing outfits and Sebastian (hi hi, got ya Mattias).

Seriously the last 2 months have been amazing and great! Mostly
because we have been dancing so much but also offcourse our baby
Sebastian (alos known as Best-ian, because he is the best!) is so
sweet and funny. He spends his days smiling and trying to walk.
Already now he stomps his little feet when he is watching us dance and
he knows how to peck his tiny head. He is more or less fluent in
german, norweigian, danish and dutch because he spent time in those
countries.

We had a great time in Herräng and stayed 3 weeks with my parents and
1 week in private accomondation with Mattias parents. It was fun and
somewhat weird to be in Herräng but not stay in my own house. We wen
to dinner one night at my parents house and I did not know if I should
empty the dishwasher since I am guest, but I am also their daughter…
so I obviously choose not to empty it. Hi hi again.

Herräng was so organized this year and all the meetings where so
funny. I love Mark Kihara and Robert Klingwall and all the crazyness
they make up. It is people like them who are the true spirit of the
camp; great dancers who loves laughing at themselves and also have
warm hearts and fun new ideas that they are not afraid to just try.

This years swingkids and teens where so fun! And many! It is such an
honour to introduce these great children to the world of dancing.

We just came from Cologne (Esther and Bernd are still our number ones
who inspire u sto be better dancers and teachers) and we recorded a
new dvd! It will be a beginner-course for lindy hop and also 6
airsteps, and warm up and spotting, safety, lights, clothes, make up,
cameras, lights, slow motion… gagh! Out of breath! You cant even
imagine how hard we worked for this! All of us! Tim Collins and Malou
and David and Sebastian (and my mum who also was there!) worked and
are working still. And during the 2 days of shooting I smacked
(=landed in airstep with a bang!) like 80 times. My legs said that
they wanted a raise after that.

Now our next thing is getting the dvd edited and then we go to
Barcelona and Pep and Emi´s "Il sinera". Hope to see you there!
